Campout FAQ

+ What time should I arrive? When are the activities?

You can arrive as early as 10:00AM or as late as you like! Please, see the full schedule of activities here: https://www.outdoorfest.com/camp#schedule

*Please note, if you are running in the ultra run you can obviously arrive before 10:00AM.

+ Can I just come for the day?

Yes! Just choose the "Day Pass" option to get a ticket that includes everything on Saturday.

+ Do I need to print out my ticket?

No, you can just give your name at registration.

+ Do I need to bring my ID?

Yes, we will be checking. If you can't prove you're over 21 years of age, you cannot drink.

+ What's the food and drink situation?

Saturday Food

On Saturday, please pack your own lunch and dinner or you can purchase from Empanaderia NYC for dinner:

You're also welcome to bring your own backcountry stoves (no grills!) or cook over the open fire.

Note: it's a 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the campground so pack accordingly.

Sunday Breakfast

Breakfast will include granola from Clif Bar and Breakfast Grains from Patagonia Provisions. Please bring a re-usable bowl and spoon! Coffee will be from High Brew.

Drinks We'll have beer from Sierra Nevada, water from Boxed Water and coffee from High Brew on-site.

+ What's the rain plan?

The campout is rain or shine. Please pack accordingly.

+ I purchased a shuttle pass, where do I go?

We will meet you at Passenger Pickup in a 15 passenger van. Here’s a map circling said passenger pick up /drop off area: http://imgur.com/kwlbGpd. To get there, you'll follow the masses as you get off the ferry. In the main terminal hallway you'll see a bunch of "ramps". Turn left and walk all the way to the very end past the A ramp. At the end of the hallway there's a staircase on your left heading DOWN. At the bottom of those staircase is passenger pick-up.

*If you miss your shuttle, you can try to hop on the next one if there is room. Otherwise, uber is your best bet.

+ Can I drive myself?

Yes, there is FREE parking on site. Please do not use the Google Maps address for Kaufman it will lead you astray! For GPS use: 1215-1251 Manor Rd, Staten Island, NY you will see the entrance to the "JCC camp" across the street from the school. That's where you turn.

Once you park you'll see a path on the left hand side of the lot leading up to a lake where check-in is.

+ What should I bring?

Do I need to bring fire starter, fishing gear?

We'll start the fires and Freestone will bring the fishing gear.

+ Can I bring illegal substances or my own alcohol?

No.

5K Registration goes from 7:00PM-8:00PM. Race begins at 8:15PM.

+ Cell service? Wifi?

Yes! and... seriously?

+ Are there bathrooms and showers?

There are bathrooms at the campsite. We will have one rudimentary portable camp shower available.
