OutdoorFest aims to create a community of New York's urban-based outdoor enthusiasts.
Live in the city, love the outdoors
Sharon loves the outdoors for the hiking, biking, swimming, and sometimes slow running. During work hours, you can find her at Freelancers Union, where she creates opportunities for freelancers to meet, greet, and learn. On the weekend, check your nearest farmers market cheese stand, or follow the trail of fresh bread crumbs. IG @sharonlikestone.
Jacob is an urban educator hailing from the beautiful state of Wisconsin. An avid adventurer and big kid who just wants to be outside, Jacob brings his positive energy and structure to our Mappy Hours. His limitless energy causes him to discover countless outdoor activities like slack lining, biking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, gardening, and discovering secret spots in New York City.
Dominic works smart to maximize his outdoor playtime whether it's his daily 50+ mile bike commute, his kayaking lunch break, or a quick and dirty one night camping trip on a work night. You can find him anywhere from cranking gears in the Maryland farm country to backpacking in the shenandoah valley. By day he's an operations director for a graduate school specializing in intelligence and defense studies and by night/weekend an endurance junkie.
Matt Mosteller (Powder Matt)
Powder lover and Ski Blogger, Powder Matt Mosteller (aka Powder Matt), works in Calgary, AB. He’s a retired ski bum, has a really messy office and rides a bicycle to work or in the winter he has even skied to work. He is always trying to convert everyone to eating his uber green and healthy stuff, even sometimes getting co-workers and friends to join him at Community Natural Foods or the Coup.
Jim Barr (Doc Snow)
He’s made his life’s work inspiring people to get outside and enjoy the world’s best winter locations - as we all know, right here in Western Canada! Doc is at the helm of a team that have become one of Canada’s most successful digital media networks, with two online communities, www.SnowSeekers.ca and www.FestivalSeekers.com
From the top of Kilimanjaro, to the base of Everest and to the summits of many mountain peaks across Alberta and BC, Doc Pow has always been in search of a great story.

This is the philosophy that Paula Worthington applies to her life – whether it’s in the great outdoors or in the boardroom. A public relations leader in Calgary, Paula also loves traveling to far-flung places or adventuring in her Rocky Mountain backyard in Alberta. She shares her adventures through her candid and blog post on the Calgary Herald and her Better Than Sitting at Home website. She’s also a contributor to Seekers Media.
Hannah enjoys being outside, even if it's just walking around the crowded city blocks. There's always something exciting and fun happening here in New York City. Along with her local pursuits of running and swimming she loves to travel internationally including trips to El Salvador doing service work with Habitat for Humanity. She's always keen for more adventures exploring all that the city and its surroundings have to offer.
Ismael (Izzy) Lopez
An eschewer of the status quo, Izzy has recently decided to follow his own American dream and pursue his true passions: photography and exploring the great outdoors. The self-proclaimed "Bronx Nomad," Izzy is equally comfortable navigating the concrete jungle as he is the wilderness of the forest, while capturing the essence of it all through his lens. And he's perfectly happy picking up all the primitive backcountry skills he can along the way. IG @bronxnomad
