Skype Moment: Mission 31 at The Explorers Club

On June 1st, Fabien Cousteau and his team dove down to their new home the Aquarius where they would successfully live for 31 days engaging in research, exploration, and education. On June 7th at 9:30AM we plugged in a computer and connected to wifi at the famed Explorers Club.

At 10:00AM Skype lit up and we answered - seeing Cousteau's face fill the screen. For 40 minutes we got to explore the Aquarius, meeting the crew, asking questions, and even seeing a fish swim by the side of the Aquarius. It seemed so simple - a computer, an application, internet and we were able to access the inside of an aquatic laboratory. Here's our Skype Moment:

Skype is up and ready. We projected the image onto a large screen at the front of the room so everyone could see.

It's time! Here's a shot of the computer which was set up in the back of the room.

Cousteau spoke to us about the fish, diving, research and conservation. We even got a Q&A where he answered questions about living underwater, food preferences and daily activities. It was an amazing experience - thank you Mission 31, Skype, and The Explorers Club for joining forces to help bring this to OutdoorFest!
